There are few changes to the NSCS rules for ’08 season. Here are some notable differences from ’07:

 

The NSCS has reinstituted the car owner bonus plan, which was absent in 2007. The plan is meant to supplement purse winnings of teams that run the full schedule. The first place team will receive $350 with the payout decreasing by $25 for each of the top five positions. Teams must run all the events to be eligible. For the first three races, this year, the ’07 points will be used for eligibility. The nine teams that ran 80% or more of the events in ‘07 are eligible for the first three races. Starting at the fourth race, teams who’ve run all of the ’08 races will be eligible for a share of the Owner Bonus Plan money.
